Frequently Asked Questions

Honest Answers About Heating, Cooling, and CRS

General HVAC Questions

We recommend twice a year — once in spring for cooling and once in fall for heating. Regular maintenance helps your system run safely and efficiently while preventing surprise breakdowns.

Most systems last 10–15 years when properly maintained. Lack of maintenance or poor installation can shorten that lifespan significantly. During a tune-up, we’ll let you know if your system is showing early signs of wear.

That light “burning dust” smell is normal after months of sitting idle. It should clear up within a few minutes. If it doesn’t — or if you smell gas or smoke — turn the system off and call us right away.

A heat pump provides both heating and cooling in one system by reversing refrigerant flow. In colder climates, many homeowners pair it with a furnace for added efficiency and comfort.

Check it monthly and replace it every 1–3 months depending on your home, pets, and dust level. A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes your system work harder.

We can install whole-home air cleaners, UV lights, or humidifiers to reduce dust, dryness, and allergens — all connected directly to your HVAC system.

Heating & Cooling Maintenance

We don’t just “check” your system — we clean, test, and verify every key component. That includes CO testing, furnace and condenser coil cleaning, full electrical inspection, airflow verification, thermostat testing, and system performance checks.
(Burner removal and cleaning are available as an extra service if needed.)

Yes. We offer both Classic and Smart Maintenance Plans with flexible payment options. Choose between traditional seasonal visits or smart sensor-based monitoring with tiered benefits. Ask your technician for details.

If the weather and system setup allow, yes — though we typically perform one visit in spring and one in fall for the most accurate testing and cleaning.

Absolutely. We can include humidifier cleaning and pad replacement, or add annual water heater flushing to any maintenance plan for a small additional fee.
